About ITM

ITM is a privately owned biotechnology and radiopharmaceutical group of companies dedicated to the development, production and global supply of targeted diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals and radioisotopes for use in cancer treatment. We are developing a proprietary portfolio and growing pipeline of targeted treatments in various stages of clinical development addressing cancers such as neuroendocrine cancers or bone metastases. Our main objectives are to significantly improve treatment outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients through a new generation of Targeted Radionuclide Therapies in Precision Oncology. The headquarters are located in the heart of the research center of the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

To strengthen our team, we are looking - at the earliest possible date - for a freelancer to join us in Garching for approximately 6 to 12 months in a hybrid work model as

Interim Strategic Purchaser Clinical Outsourcing (f/m/d)

Your role

  • Support clinical outsourcing projects to ensure successful and timely delivery, within the budget

  • Lead cross-functional teams in vendor selection and manage the stake holders

  • Prepare Request for Proposal packages, compile detailed specifications together with functional leads

  • Review and provide cost comparisons for all received proposals, organize and drive the project team decision-making process

  • Negotiate contracts, review contract scope and financials

  • Manage service scope changes and change orders

  • Track annual cost increases, where applicable, and ensure they are aligned with agreed mechanisms

  • Monitor contract and vendor performance and provide issue escalation support

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards throughout sourcing activities

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in science or business, or other relevant experience/degree 

  • 5+ years of clinical outsourcing experience

  • Strong budget skills

  • Demonstrated experience working in an international and matrix environment

  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry, clinical trials and drug development process

  • Experience dealing with Contract Research Organizations and other relevant vendors

  • Experience managing procurement-specific challenges

  • Project management skills

  • Experience negotiating in cross functional teams based in multiple geographies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Language requirements: Fluency in English is required; German skills are an advantage

  • Ability to work independently but in close cooperation within the Procurement team
  • Experience to work with Procurement ERP systems and tools (Clinical Maestro and SAP experience is a plus)
